Clara Abi Nader
Clara Abi Nader is an experimental artist that explores the concepts of identity, belonging, and memory. Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, she attended the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts and is now residing in Paris.
Through self-portraiture and therapeutic introspection, she questions her understanding and the representation of the female form. She also photographically archives Lebanese landscapes, journeying through ruptures and inadequacies of the no man’s land that makes up the country’s terrain.
She is currently embarking on the creation of mini videos, all produced on her smartphone. Working with several mediums, she tries to see beyond the image, working to be expansive in her artistic approach.
Her series, “Au Retour,” has been featured in several exhibitions, and her works have been published in L’Orient Le Jour.
